Joe Nadeau
Shreveport, LA

One of the smokinest guitarist to grace this area in many a year, Joe Nadeau is Steppin’ Up ! This four song demo represents only glimpses at a guitar talent that stretches from Boston to Texas to Chicago and back to old style Louisianne!

Joe Nadeau started playing at age eleven and, with no formal lessons, caught the blues bug early on. Things have changed since he first plucked and plinked on that old Sears & Roebuck ‘strat-o-lin’ guitar. Now a bonafide Strat-man, Joe Nadeau uses the Fenders almost exclusively even though he loves Gretchen his old Gretch Synchromatic with the cool hollow body and F-holes!

Joe Nadeau ‘s influences read like a Blues hall of fame: Jimmie & Stevie Ray Vaughan, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Magic Sam, all the Kings - B. B., Albert, & Freddie, and Joe’s own native Bostonites. He’s been inspired by Duke Robillard and the classic Roomful of Blues w/ Ronnie Earl on guitar and, later, Ronnie’s own outfit, The Broadcasters.

Joe Nadeau came to Shreveport in 1990 from Boston, Massachusetts via Dallas, Texas where he met a very, very young Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Joe and Kenny’s friendship resulted in the formation of their first band and took them through two Gold Records, a couple of years of crisscrossing the United States and around the world! Joe was Kenny’s first vocalist and rhythm guitarist and shared lead for many years while earning accolades in the shadow with 3 co-writes on the Gold Certified Ledbetter Heights CD as well as a co-write for the soundtrack on the TriStar movie The Fan, starring Robert DeNiro and Wesley Snipes. He continued to work with Kenny on his follow up effort, Trouble Is... Now Joe Nadeau is Steppin’ Up to rightly secure his place among the top of the heap of blues guitarists!

Joe Nadeau has appeared with: the Eagles, Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Jimmy Vaughan, the Allman Brothers band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, James Brown, Otis Rush, Robert Cray, John Mayall, Delbert McClinton, Room Full of Blues, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Ronnie Earl, Double Trouble, James Burton, Dale Hawkins, Buddy Flett & the Bluebirds, Kenny Bill Stinson, Johnny Winter, Mike Morgan & the Crawl, Little Feat, the Neville Brothers, Paul Rogers and many, many more!

Joe Nadeau has written dozens of songs, and is still writing for an upcoming CD release due in early 1999! Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy Joe Nadeau’s live show, truly one of the hottest going today! Look for Joe Nadeau’ coming to your town! Let him come Steppin’ Up to rock your blues away!

Steppin’ Up is an overview of Joe at his best, playing some of his favorite songs from his live set. Plug it in, turn it up and enjoy! See him now!
